Everett Westcott
His background includes thirty-five years of executive experience including C-level responsibilities with two start-up companies, Aquidneck Data Corporation and The Freedom Group that were respectively sold to Eastman Kodak and American Retirement Corporation. He also served as a Corporate Internal Auditor for General Dynamics Corporation, as Chief Corporate Accountant for Sanders Associates, Inc, now a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation and as a Regional Vice President of Retirement Management Corporation. In addition, Mr. Westcott has been President of EMW Enterprises, a consulting organization that provided Interim Executive Management services to companies in the senior living, circuit board, medical devices, software, telecommunications, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, defense, distribution, hi-tech and travel/recreation industries.
As a Regional Vice President with Retirement Management Corporation, Mr. Westcott was responsible for the P&L and public relations of nine large Florida and Ohio turn-around properties that employed 600 people.
As CFO and SVP Operations of the Freedom Group, he played a significant part in helping a young company become nationally successful in the business of designing, constructing, marketing and managing senior living centers. He was able to utilize his financial and managerial abilities to help the company go from a start-up to a major senior living company that ultimately managed 1,700 employees and accumulated $300 million in assets.
During the early to mid eighties, Mr. Westcott was CFO and a Director of Aquidneck Data Corporation in Newport, RI. During his employment, Inc. Magazine twice ranked this “hightech” company as one of the fifty best-managed companies in the nation. His employer was both a defense contractor, providing fire-control software for the Tomahawk and Cruise Missile Systems, as well as a supplier of commercial office automation systems to New England municipalities. Aquidneck Data, which was considered to be one of Rhode Island’s success stories during the early eighties, was sold to Eastman Kodak in 1984.
As Chief Corporate Accountant at Sanders Associates, Inc. he was responsible for promulgating corporate financial policy, orchestrating all financial reporting activities for seven divisions, overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements and managing a twenty employee Property Operations Department.
Mr. Westcott was recruited by General Dynamics Corporation to be part of both their Corporate Internal Auditing Organization and its Executive Management Training Program. During his employment, he served as a Resident Corporate Auditor at General Dynamic’s Electric Boat, Stromberg Carlson, Electronics and Quincy Shipyard Divisions/Subsidiaries. In these capacities he was mostly responsible for generating independent operational and financial audit reports and reviewing them with Division Presidents and their CFO’s.
Mr. Westcott served as a member of the board of directors of Aquidneck Data Corporation – Newport, RI. He graduated from Bryant University, Smithfield, RI.
