The actions that an executive takes during the first three months in a new job can largely determine whether they succeed or fail. This mentoring process will help develop situational awareness and augment the professional tool box of the mentee so as to accelerate and improve the effectiveness of a transition into a new company.

It involves the exploration and determination of nine issues:

  1. What are your specific risks and vulnerabilities?
  2. What are success factors and common pitfalls?
  3. How do you assess the new culture?
  4. How do you negotiate success with your new boss?
  5. How do you determine your initial priorities?
  6. How can you get some early wins?
  7. How can you keep your balance?
  8. What about your inherited team?
  9. How to determine whose support is critical?
  10. How can you speed up your learning?

Each issue will be discussed in a 1-on-1 sixty minute consultation with Edwards. Topic-specific preparation sheets and discussion guides are used to optimize the consultation time.

Several validated assessments will be administered and discussed to provide meaningful information for the mentor and mentee.
